RandomVoiceChat ("we", "us", "our") operates the website and service at randomvoicechat.live. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using RandomVoiceChat you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Guest Users (no account)

• A randomly generated anonymous user ID (session-scoped, not tied to your identity)
• Your approximate country, detected from your IP address for matching purposes
• Connection timestamps and session duration
• Reports you submit against other users

We do not store your IP address beyond the country lookup. We do not record, store, or process the audio content of your calls.

2.2 Registered Users (optional account)

• Email address and username you provide on signup
• Hashed password (we never store plain-text passwords)
• Gender preference and interests you optionally provide for matching filters
• Friends list and friend request history
• Subscription status if you purchase a paid plan

2.3 Automatically Collected Data

• Browser type, operating system, and device type
• Pages visited and time spent (via Google Analytics 4)
• Referring URL

3. How We Use Your Information

• To match you with other users for voice calls
• To detect your country for regional matching (data not stored after lookup)
• To enforce our community guidelines and respond to reports of abuse
• To provide and maintain your account if you choose to register
• To process payments for premium subscriptions (handled by Stripe — we do not store card details)
• To analyse usage patterns and improve the service via Google Analytics
• To send transactional emails (e.g. password reset) if you have an account

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

4. Audio and Calls

Voice calls are established directly between your browser and your match's browser using WebRTC peer-to-peer technology. We do not have access to the audio content of your calls, and calls are never recorded or stored on our servers.

In cases where a direct connection cannot be established (approximately 15% of connections due to strict network NAT), audio is relayed through a TURN server. Even in this case, the audio stream is not recorded or logged.

5. Cookies

We use the following cookies:

• Authentication cookies — short-lived JWT access tokens and refresh tokens stored in httpOnly cookies, used to keep you logged in
• Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4 cookies that help us understand how visitors use the site (anonymous, aggregated data)

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies beyond Google Analytics.

6. Third-Party Services

• Google Analytics 4 — website usage analytics. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Stripe — payment processing for premium subscriptions. We never see or store your card details. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• TURN/STUN servers — used solely for WebRTC NAT traversal. No personal data is transmitted beyond what WebRTC requires to establish the connection.

7. Data Retention

• Guest session data is deleted within 24 hours of your session ending
• Registered account data is retained for as long as your account is active
• Moderation logs (reports) are retained for up to 90 days
• You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time (see Section 8)

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
• Data portability (receive your data in a structured format)

9. Children's Privacy

RandomVoiceChat is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when this policy was last revised.
